In a public address, Rockland County Executive Ed Day and the Rockland County Health Commissioner, announced some changes to the stalled Emergency Declaration following the rampant Measles outbreak in the county.
The changes included a $2000 fine per violation per day, for any parent that allows an exposed child to be out in a public setting.
Another change made was mandating that any unvaccinated child be excluded from school, regardless of the schools vaccination rate.
Previously, if a school had a vaccination rate above 95%, other children in the school were able to continue to attend, now, no longer.
These requirements are in effect immediately in two Rockland County zip codes, 10952 and 10977.
