Rockland County Man Arrested in Homicide Investigation

New York State Police announced the arrest of Joseph Janulewicz, age 63 of West Nyack for Murder 2nd degree following a missing person reported in Greenwood Lake, NY.

On June 14, 2022, State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) were contacted by the Greenwood Lake Police Department for their assistance for a missing person, Brian Romney, age 56 of Greenwood Lake, NY. State Police assumed lead in the investigation.

The body of Romney was located at a residence in West Nyack, NY. Investigation led police to arrest Joseph Janulewicz on June 17, 2022.

The State Police Troop were assisted by the Rockland County DA’s Office, the Orange County DA’s Office, Greenwood Lake Police Department, Clarkstown Police Department, and the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Janulewicz is to be arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown this morning. This incident is still under investigation.
