Rockland Legislature Votes To Take Over Spring Valley Department of Buildings

In a unanimous vote Tuesday night, Rockland Legislators voted to take over the Spring Valley Department of Buildings.

The vote follows a proposal by Rockland Executive Ed Day, which provides a $1.5 Million budget for the County’s new department.

The move to take over Spring Valley’s Department of Buildings came after the Department of State demanded the takeover in the aftermath of the Evergreen fire which took the life of a firefighter.
