Rockland Primary Complete, Lawler and Maloney to Face Off In General Election

by Monsey.info

The stage is set for the upcoming congressional election after Rockland picked their preferred candidates, standing Sean Patrick Maloney (Democrat) against Mike Lawler (Republican).

The two candidates were endorsed by a group of Frum elected officials from six Rockland County villages.

Lawler was elected to the New York State Assembly on November 3, 2020, and led his district comprising the southern portion of Rockland County.

As an Assemblyman, Mike has fought one-party control in Albany to reduce the state’s onerous tax burden, bring fiscal discipline to its budget, secure additional funding for law enforcement and first responders, craft legislation to improve public safety, encourage economic growth, and fully fund our schools.

Maloney grew up in a middle-class Irish-Catholic family. Sean’s father, a disabled veteran, and his mother started a small business and managed to put Sean and his brothers through college.

Sean was elected to represent the Hudson Valley in 2012, defeating Tea Party Congresswoman Nan Hayworth. Sean quickly built a reputation for working across party lines to invest in and improve our infrastructure, strengthen the health and financial security of America’s retirees, and keep the United States safe and free.

The general election will take place on November 8th, and every Rockland County resident is encouraged to vote.
