Rollover Crash On Route 45 Ends With DUI Arrest

At about midnight Friday night, officers from the Ramapo Police Department responded to crash on Route 45 by the Summit Park School caused by a drunk driver.
A 2008 Toyota Highlander was travelling northbound on Route 45 and stuck a mailbox, followed by a parked vehicle in a private driveway. The Toyota came to rest on its side, and the 32 year old male operator needed to be extricated from the vehicle. He was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Hillcrest FD, Spring Hill Ambulance, Rockland Paramedics, and the NY State Police all assisted at the scene, and the male operator was transferred to Montefiore-Nyack Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He was later arrested for driving under the influence.
The crash is being investigated by the responding Ramapo PD officers.
