Stabber in Chanukah Attack Ruled Unfit To Stand Trial

Grafton Thomas, the man charged with a stabbing attack at a Chanukah Tish in Monsey, has been ruled unfit to stand trial for his crimes.

Judge Cathy Siebel, the federal court judge preceding over Federal Hate Crimes Trial, made the decision public on Monday. She ordered Grafton Thomas committed to a mental health treatment facility four months, after which it will be decided if โ€œin the foreseeable future he will attain the capacity to permit criminal proceedings to go forward against him.โ€

Josef Neumann, who was criticly injured by Thomas in the attack, died last month following complications.

Thomas has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
