Storm Alert: Orange & Rockland Utilities Working to Restore Power After High Winds, Snow and Rain Caused Outages Across Region

Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) has mobilized its emergency response workforce to repair damages caused by strong winds, rain and snow in some areas during the overnight hours.

Mixed snow and rain, with potential for additional snow accumulations, as well as strong wind gusts, are expected to continue throughout the service territory for the remainder of the day.

In addition to O&R company and contractor overhead line crews, tree removal experts, customer service operators, and the rest of the members of the O&R emergency response team, O&R has brought 130 mutual aid crew members to respond to emergencies throughout the duration of the storms.

As of 10:00 a.m. this morning, approximately 8,187 customers remained without power in the following areas:

NEW YORK: 7,734

Orange County: 4,968

Deerpark — 1,416
Warwick Town — 1,293
Blooming Grove — 825

Sullivan County: 2,629

Lumberland — 1,688
Mamakating — 613
Forestburgh — 327

Rockland County: 137

Orangetown — 89
Piermont — 41
