Teen Drowns While Swimming in Hudson Near Haverstraw Beach State Park

The body of a 19-year-old Spring Valley resident was recovered Monday after he was reported missing while swimming in the Hudson River.

Kevin Pinto had been swimming near Haverstraw Beach State Park and had been reported missing around 6:00am on Monday, June 6th.

New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team (URT) along with local fire departments searched the water while Rockland County Sheriff’s Office bloodhound, along with New York Park Police, state troopers and members if the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) assisted with the ground search.

The body of Kevin Pinto was located and recovered by URT this afternoon in the Hudson River. There does not appear to be any foul play.

State Police were assisted by Haverstraw Police Department, Rockland Sheriff’s Office, United States Coast Guard, New York State Park Police, and numerous local fire departments.
