Teenager Arrested With Stolen Vehicle Released, Just to Be Arrested Again After Stealing Another Vehicle in Monsey

by Monsey.info

The insanity of the present bail reforms was in full view this week when a teenager, just released after stealing a vehicle, steals another vehicle in Monsey just one hour later.

On September 13th, 2022, a 19 year old male was arrested by Suffern Police for possessing a stolen vehicle. Following the laws, the teenager was processed and released, and approximately one hour later stole a vehicle from the Monsey area.

Alert officers of the Clarkstown Police Department tracked down the teen, who subsequently fled from them inside the stolen car.

The slippery thief was then observed by the Mahwah NJ Police in New Jersey, and he then fled from them as well back into New York.

The ping pong chase ended when the vehicle he had stolen became disabled in Suffern, at which time Suffern Police were able to arrest him again.

He was later turned over to the Ramapo Police Investigations Division and charged with Grand Larceny, Criminal Mischief, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. The suspect also had two open warrants out of New Jersey.

He was arraigned in the Airmont Justice Court as a Fugitive from Justice and thankfully remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
