The Jew Project: Yishai Fleisher

Yishai Fleisher was born in 1976, in Haifa, Israel. The year of his birth marked a critical Israeli event with the daring rescue mission saving 103 hostages taken in the Entebbe Hijacking. His parents, Soviet Refuseniks, emigrated to the United States. Yishai however, returned to Israel, served in the IDF Paratroopers, and sustained combat injuries while serving in Lebanon in 1997. Yishai then returned to the United States, earning a degree in Political Science, followed by a Juris Doctorate from Cardozo Law School, as well as his Rabbinical Ordination.

In 1999, Yishai co-founded Kumah, an Israeli NGO focused on raising awareness and promotion of Aliyah. His work in promoting Aliyah lead to the creation of Aliyah Day in 2016, and the receiving of the Ari Fuld “Lion of Zion” award in 2023.

In 2006 Yishai ran for Knesset with the Atid Ehad Party.

Since 2015, Yishai is the international spokesperson for the Jewish Community of Hebron, and many other West Bank Communities. Yishai is a Rabbi and Podcast Host, and is a frequent contributor and guest on many mainstream channels and platforms when discussing Israeli Politics. He also regularly writes for the Jerusalem Post.

Yishai is a recognized and respected expert in Israeli Advocacy, Public Diplomacy, and Jewish/Israeli Education.

Yishai lives with his wife and children in the area of Judea & Sumeria, in the heart of Israel the eternal Jewish country.
