Truck Hits Overpass on I-87, Closes 2 Lanes for Hazmat Spill
A crash involving a possible chemical spill on the Southbound side of the New York State Thruway, I-87, is causing major delays.
A truck, hauling a large container with some unidentified liquid inside, hit an overpass, throwing debris and the container onto the roadway.
The container leaked the unidentified liquid, causing the closure of the left and center lanes. Southbound exits 14A and 14B are also closed, according to the Thruway twitter account.
Firefighters were on scene to handle the spill, and drivers should expect long delays.
