Two Multiple Casualty Incidents In Two Jewish Enclaves After Food Poisonings Sickens Flight

A flight of bochurim returning from Ukraine took a decidedly ill turn Tuesday when twenty-seven boys took sick with food poisoning.
According to those familiar with the situation, the bochurim had been returning from a trip to Kivrei Tzadikim with the Viznitzer Rebbe when some of the bochurim began to feel ill while on the airplane. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea began to come out across multiple bochurim, initially creating panic with the worry of an unknown virus. With some investigation, it was later determined that the bochurim had all eaten bad sandwiches, and the cause of the mysterious illness was simply food poisoning.
Upon landing, the boys split up, with most of the group returning by bus to Boro Park, and the other heading to Monsey.
When the Boro Park bus arrived, it drove straight to one of the Boro Park Hatzoloh Garages, sparking the first of the two Multiple Casualty incidents.
Boro Park Hatzoloh scrambled multiple crews and nearly all their available ambulances, calling other Hatzalah chapters including Flatbush and Crown Heights to come and assist. Ultimately twenty bochurim were transported to the hospital in total from Boro Park.
The bus returning to Monsey made its stop by Kiryas Joel, where Rockland County Hatzoloh also announced a Multiple Casualty Incident and notified 911. Seven bochurim were transported to the hospital in total from Monsey.
