Vaccine Mandates Have Arrived, B&H To Require Employees To Be Vaccinated By The End of The Year

The mandates are real, and everyone must be vaccinated by the end of the year.
It’s New York City Law, and will soon also be required by the US government. Either way, employers have run out of time to stall in requiring their employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to a memo from B&H Photo, which includes many Jewish and frum employees, the vaccine mandate is going into effect, and failure to be vaccinated will end in suspension without pay.
“Recently, the New York City Mayor provided regulations for a vaccine mandate,” the memo reads. “A federal mandate for vaccines is also scheduled to be effective in January of 2022.”
According to the memo, all employees would need to show proof of vaccination, and if they have not yet received their second shot, would need to do so by a specified date.
The memo does also leave open the option for “lawful accommodation” although it does not specify as to what that might entail.
Recent media availabilities by the Mayor of New York City had questions raised regarding the effect such a mandate would have, and if they would disproportionately affect minority people. The Mayor responded that “Mandates Work,” and he expects to see most people vaccinate due to the mandate.
The effect of such a mandate has yet to be fully seen although a vast majority of New Yorkers have already been vaccinated.
