Winter Overnight Parking Regulations Are Back On
Although the weather has been beautiful lately and it doesn’t feel much like November, the Ramapo Police Department would like to remind residents of winter parking restrictions throughout the town. Here is a summary of parking regulations in Ramapo and each of the villages patrolled by RPD:
Airmont: No overnight street parking between November 1 – April 7. From April 7 – October 31, no parking between 2 a.m. – 6 a.m.
Chestnut Ridge: No street parking from 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. between November 1 – April 1.
Hillburn: No street parking from 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. when snow is forecasted by the U.S. National Weather Service or when snow has accumulated on the roadway but before it has been cleared.
Montebello: No street parking from 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. between November 1 – April 1.
New Hempstead: allows for overnight parking in the winter as long as there is no predicted snow or snow conditions
Pomona: No street parking from 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. year-round.
Sloatsburg: No street parking from 12 a.m. – 6 a.m. between December 1 – April 1.
Wesley Hills: No street parking from 2 a.m. – 6 a.m. year-round.
Town of Ramapo: Parking on all public roads is prohibited when snow is accumulating or if snowfall has been forecasted. Upon the start of snowfall, parking on all public roads is prohibited until the snowfall stops and streets are cleared of snow to the curb or edge of the pavement.
