ARRESTED: Spring Valley Police Arrest Man Wanted For Multiple Armed Robberies

On 7/10/2023 at approximately 1 AM, the Spring Valley Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the Next Gas Station located at 146 N. Main St. in Spring Valley. The victim reports that a white male wearing a mask entered the location and brandished a handgun while demanding money from the register. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect fled the location in an unknown direction.

Later that same day at approximately 11 AM, the Spring Valley Police Department responded to 75 N Main St., for a report of an attempted robbery. A man who appeared to be the same suspect, from the earlier entered Jac-Variedades Inc. and demanded money from the employee. The employee became alarmed and pushed the panic button which caused the suspect to flee the area without any proceeds.

Approximately an hour and a half later at about 1230 PM, the Spring Valley Police Department responded to the Metro PCS Store located at 12 S Central Ave for a report of an armed robbery. A man who appeared to be the same suspect from the two earlier robberies entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the employee. The employee complied with the demand and the suspect fled the location in an unknown direction.

After an extensive investigation, the Spring Valley Police Department and FBI New York Westchester Safe Streets Task Force were able to apprehend 40-year-old, Adham Mohamed El-Gamal, during the early morning hours of 7/12/2023, at his residence in Harriman, New York for the string of robberies. A loaded handgun was also located subsequent to the arrest. He is being charged with 2 counts of Hobbs Act Robbery, 1 count of Attempted Hobbs Act Robbery, and federal weapons violations. Mr. El-Gamal was brought before a federal magistrate at the Southern District of New York Federal Court House in White Plains for an initial appearance which concluded in him being remanded to federal custody.
