Hillcrest FD Welcomes New Fly Car Response Vehicles

The Hillcrest Fire Company welcomed four new Response Vehicles to its fleet this week, increasing the departments ability to quickly respond in case of emergencies.

“Our top priority has always been a quick and effective response to emergencies,” the department wrote in social media. “With increased traffic throughout our district, we do what firefighters do best, adapt and overcome.”

These vehicles are intended to provide a faster response to calls for help throughout our district, which means help at your doorstep faster.

While the fly car concept of emergency response is hardly new, it has gained popularity as local, mostly volunteer departments, struggle with staffing shortages and increased call volumes.

“We are thrilled to bring this great program to our response area to become even more efficient than we already are,” they said.

The four new Ford Explorers have already had decals placed on the exterior of the vehicles.
