The National Weather Service has announced a Flash Flood Watch and Hazardous Weather warning for Rockland County as strong thunderstorms head into the area.
According to the NWS, the watch remains in effect through Friday morning as a period of heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms is expected with the approach of a cold front tonight.
A widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain are likely with locally higher amounts possible, which with the rainfall combined with wet antecedent conditions in a short period of time will lead to increased potential for flash flooding.
