The owner of a Rockland County-based consulting company has agreed to pay half a million dollars after admitting to using money from grants for personal use.

Federal prosecutors say Victoria Shaw, the owner of Wellcore in Suffern, admitted that the company applied for and received federal grants from the Drug-Free Communities Support Program, which included forged signatures of community leaders.

She also revealed that another person previously affiliated with Wellcore spent some of the funds for personal matters, including paying for their child’s day camp expenses and birthday party, personal travel, and more.
