Spring Valley: Downed Utility Pole Sets Car on Fire, Leaves Large Area in the Dark

A car caught on fire after a Utility pole came down in Spring Valley early Monday evening, causing an electricity outage for a large area of Spring Valley.

A black SUV driving on Union Road and Merrick Drive in Spring Valley, caught on fire after a Utility pole came down, draping it with live wires.

The incident ocurred around 6:30pm Monday evening, and thankfully, the driver escaped from the vehicle unharmed.

The downed pole, which was caused by high winds according to the Ramapo Police Department, caused an electrical outage for a large area of Spring Valley, including the SVPD building.
