PSA: Indian Point Siren Test on June 14th

There will be a test of the Indian Point sirens in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Orange Counties on Wednesday, June 14 at approximately 10:30 a.m. This sounding is ONLY A TEST.

Both nuclear plants have shut down and are defueled. This is an administrative requirement until a new emergency plan is approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission that is expected this year. No action is required by the public.

In conjunction with the siren test, the Office of Fire & Emergency Services we will be doing a CodeRed (reverse 911) call out to those residents in the Emergency Planning Zone notifying them of the siren test. The call will be starting at 8:15 am on June 14.
