One suspect, identified as Mr. Jacob A. Ortega-Espinoza, a 27-year-old male with no fixed address, was apprehended shortly after fleeing his vehicle. He faces charges including fugitive from justice, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass.

Major Underground Transmission Line Approved in Rockland; Project To Improv Reliability and Resiliency for O&R Customers
The New York State Public Service Commission (NYSPSC) has approved (February 15) Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) plans for a new, $57.8-million, two-year electric system construction project designed to improve electric service reliability and system resiliency for approximately 45,000 O&R customers by installing 5.5 miles of new electric transmission cable underground in the southwest section of Clarkstown.

On Saturday, December 30, 2023 at approximately 4:50 pm the Clarkstown Police Department responded to 49 Laurel Rd. in Central Nyack for a reported structure fire with a resident possibly still inside. Unfortunately one person lost their life in the fire.
